Lungbasamba (Lumba Sumba) Eco‑Trek Pass is a remote, high-altitude trekking route in eastern Nepal connecting the Kanchenjunga and Makalu-Barun conservation areas. The pass, at over 5,100 meters, offers breathtaking views of Himalayan giants like Makalu and Kanchenjunga. This trail passes through culturally rich villages of the Bhote, Sherpa, Rai, and Limbu communities, offering deep insights into traditional mountain life. Known for its pristine nature, rare wildlife, and minimal crowds, it is one of Nepal's most adventurous and scenic eco-treks.

Sankhuwasabha Learning Grounds (SLG) is a community-rooted organization dedicated to sustainable rural development in the highlands of Eastern Nepal. Operating primarily in Bhotkhola and Makalu Rural Municipalities of Sankhuwasabha District, SLG aims to strengthen indigenous knowledge systems, ecological integrity, and economic resilience.

Our flagship initiative is designed to regenerate land, empower local communities, preserve cultural heritage, and create climate-resilient livelihoods. Through a holistic approach grounded in permaculture, eco-tourism, traditional knowledge, and capacity building, SLG is building a model for equitable and sustainable mountain development.

We collaborate closely with farmers, youth, women’s groups, local governments, and indigenous communities to ensure inclusive growth that honors both tradition and innovation.
